Revealing my feelings through Art

A few weeks ago I created my self portrait. I started off by sketching face lines in the middle of my face outline. I first drew my eyes, ears, mouth and nose. Next I had to draw my hair, colour my skin with skin toned colours from other classes.

When I was  done colouring my skin, I drew my uniform. After I finished my self portrait I did my background using white wax crayon on a blank white sheet of paper. I was explaining feelings using art because when I finished drawing feeling lines, I dyed my background blue so that I could see my lines clearly which shows my feelings I have.

My action and feeling blurb that I like is "When I feel thrilled, I jump and shake uncontrollably."

1. Later on I  wrote blurbs about my feelings and actions. These are my blurbs, When I feel thrilled, I shake and jump uncontrollably.

2. When I feel frustrated, I tap my fingers on my head.

3. When I feel anxious, my cheeks get as red as a cherry.

Once I was  done Mrs Agnew hanged it up in our class room.

I felt so happy with the results of my self portraits.

The chicks in Room 6

Last term Joe from a chick company called Living Eggs came to our class and told us that we would be hosting eleven eggs in our class room for only to weeks. We were all so excited for them to hatch. The eggs were 19 days and this told us that after two day they would start to hatch or start pipping their way out of the eggs.

The next day the eggs were not pipping and we were all so sad but we were very patient. The following day we were rewarded because after morning tea we spotted a tiny little crack on the side of an egg. The next day I was so excited to go to school and I have never been so excited to go to school before.

When I went to school I saw everybody gathered around my class room and they looked so excited and happy. When my friend Maddy saw me she told me that some of the eggs have hatched, so I ran so excitedly and hanged my bag at the bag area. I burst through the door with happiness and saw the little chicks.

In class time we asked Mrs Agnew our teacher if we could hold them today but she said tomorrow because they had just hatched. We were sad but we went to the library to see St Johns and learn how to take care of our selves. When we came back the rest of the eggs were hatched and they were so cute. We had to wait until they become fluffy and soft before we could move them from the incubator to the brooder.

The next day we were happy, joyful and contented because we got to hold the chicks. After we did our diary of the chicks we got to hold the chicks again but only six

people can hold them at a time and the rest had to wait patiently behind their chairs. They felt so soft, fluffy, warm, woolly and fuzzy. After two weeks Jo came back to take the chicks back to their mums and dads. We were getting a bit emotional and sad. We sadly said goodbye and went back to work.

My second Art Colouring

I chose this picture because it reminds me of adventures. I really like how the sky is bright and blue and It also reminds me of going to church and receiving my own bible at church.

Art Colouring Book

I chose this picture because it reminds me of the dark green grass and it reminds me of my family having a marvelous meal at the park. I hope these holidays when the weather is warm we can share special time together.

Getting a new dictionary

Yesterday we had visitors to our class room. Unfortunately it was only for the year four's because we were getting the same dictionary as the year five's got last year.

The visitors were two wonderful ladies and they carried two boxes of Dictionaries .Their name were Mrs Kearns and her friend Carol.Mrs Kearns explained how she used to be the president and we were all shocked because we have never met a president member before.

Carol and Mrs Kearns carried one box of dictionaries and Mrs Agnew called each person that was sitting up properly .We had to hold the dictionary and write our names in it. Afterwards , we finished and we could read it for a little bit while Mrs Kearns and Carol packed up and left.

The other things that they told us were that 20,000 children had bee given a dictionary from Tonga , Samoa and NZ last year.

They were called the '' Word Fairies'' who gifts us words. They came from Pakuranga Rotary Club and we were very lucky to meet them.

The best day of my life

My first time at Rainbows End

When I was seven years old I went to Rainbows End for the first time. We went there because it was my cousin's birthday.  When we finally made it to the Rainbows End, we met my grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins.

When I first got there I was very excited and then when I went on the roller coaster I was petrified because it was very high up and also very dark and spooky.

Afterwards we went to eat some delicious sandwiches, cotton candy and then we had some frozen drinks. Meanwhile the adults were still eating so we went with my older cousin to a roller coaster called a swimming log and it felt like you were on an exciting adventure going this way and that way.

Next my uncle, aunts and I went to the fear fall and the fear fall is the most terrifying roller coaster in all of Rainbows End because you go all the way up to the Rainbow tower and then you fall all the way back down, but not all the way down to the ground! When you are close to the floor then you go down slowly.

Later we went to the bumper cars. We had so much fun that we went on them five times but I didn’t like it that much because it hurt my head when we were bumping into one another.

Finally we had to say goodbye because  Rainbows End was closing. I am so grateful  to have a family like I have. We had so much fun together and I hope we can go there again soon.
